Auditions

Instructions

1. Choose the character you would like to audition for.

2. Read through the character's sides. You may have someone reading with you when you record, or you may read only your character's lines on your own. DIALECT OPTIONAL FOR AUDITIONS.

3. Find a quiet space to record your audition. Recording into a cell phone will do, as long as you are recording in a space that allows for clear audio to be captured.

4. Label your track with your name and the character you are reading for.

221B: Adventures of the Baker Street Irregulars

DIALECT: ENGLISH RP/COCKNEY

Wiggins: Leader of the band. Desperately wants to prove himself to Holmes and Watson. Brilliant but headstrong.

Adelaide Adelbert: The brains of the operation, no matter what Wiggins may say. Smart and savvy. Can smooth talk her way out of anything.

Cartwright: A self-proclaimed "master of disguise". Has yet to fool anyone. Never goes anywhere without a costume, can often be found doing silly voices.

"Dr." Baxter Van Davies: Claims to be a doctor. He is not a doctor. Claims to be a man of science, but has no idea what he's talking about.

Ruby Gladstone: Lover of gossip. Often familiar with a person's whereabouts and lifestyle before she even meets them. Enjoys wedging herself into cramped spaces, perfect for carrying out reconnaissance missions.

Opal Gladstone: Also a lover of gossip. Does not enjoy wedging herself into cramped spaces. Not so good for reconnaissance missions.

James: The Story of Captain Hook

DIALECT: ENGLISH RP/AMERICAN.

James Hucks (Male lead): An underwriter at a London bank. World-weary and frustrated with life. Trying to be a grown-up, but not doing a very good job.

NOTE: Hucks has lines in all sides. Feel free to record two of your choosing.

Peter (Lead): A little boy who never seemed to grow up. Does what he can to help other children who have no place to go. Always looking for new friends. Brash, certainly not detail-oriented.

NOTE: Peter has lines in both the Peter and Hucks sides as well as the Nibs and Toodles sides. Feel free to record both.

Nibs (Supporting): A friend of Peter's. Not the brightest. Quick to joy, loves following Peter. Skeptical of James at first, but quickly sees the value of having a grown-up among their ranks.

Toodles (Supporting): Another friend of Peter's. Has a tendency to take himself a bit too seriously, but still loves playing with his friends.

Turok (Female supporting): Leader of the Never Birds.  Literally an 8-foot-tall bird. Dutiful yet playful, has taken a great liking to Peter over the years he's been in Neverland, always makes time to play a game with him.

Grown-ups (Minor Characters): A variety of grown-ups that appear throughout the story. Some live in London, others found their way to Neverland one way or another.
