AUDITION FOR
MERLYN & ARTHUR!
PRODUCTION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE CONDUCTED IN-PERSON IN MILWAUKEE, WI.
RECORDING DATES: 09/24, 09/25
(EVENING SESSIONS, SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
Instructions:
1. Choose the character you would like to audition for.
2. Read through the character's sides. You may have someone reading with you when you record, or you may read only your character's lines on your own. DIALECT OPTIONAL FOR AUDITIONS.
3. Find a quiet space to record your audition. Recording into a cell phone will do, as long as you are recording in a space that allows for clear audio to be captured.
5. Label your track with your name and the name of the character you are reading for.

5. Most importantly, HAVE FUN! We create joyful art at Secret Handshake, so record a joyful audition!

ROLES:
YOUNG ARTHUR (Lead, 10-12): A simple, kind-hearted young boy who greatly enjoys the company of animals. Often feels alone and out of place. Trying to find his way through the world. Not yet aware that he is the heir to the throne of England.
DIALECT: ENGLISH RP.
YOUNG KAY (Supporting, 10-12): Arthur's brother. Training to become a knight. Under great pressure due to the expectations placed upon him by Sir Ector to carry the flag for their family and become a "real man". Impatient and easily irritated by Arthur.
DIALECT: ENGLISH RP.
IGRAINE (FEMALE SUPPORTING, 25-45): Arthur's birth mother and the old queen of England. Had an enigmatic connection to King Lot while living. Torments him after her death.
DIALECT: ENGLISH RP.
UTHER PENDRAGON (MALE SUPPORTING, 25-45): Arthur's birth father and the old king of England. A mighty king, but a rough man. More interested in conquest than anything else.
DIALECT: ENGLISH RP.
KING LOT (MALE SUPPORTING, (25-45): The ruler of the small, Scottish archipelago by the name of Orkney. Obsessed with crushing England, almost to the point of madness. Mentally tormented by Igraine in death for reasons that are uncertain.
DIALECT: SCOTTISH.
THEODORA, OF THE BINDING OF MATTER (FEMALE SUPPORTING, 25-45): A powerful wizard and leader of the collective known as the "Council of Magicians". Responsible for overseeing that all facets of creation function as they should, and that the flow of time occurs according to plan. Has her hands full with Merlyn.
